Wisconsin Rodeos

You’re headed to Wisconsin for the cheese. Or, maybe you’re headed to see some of the Great Lakes and enjoy the natural beauty of Wisconsin.

Whatever draws you to Wisconsin, you won’t leave without appreciating the state’s agriculture. During the summer, it’s easy to see agriculture sports at a rodeo.

Mid-Western Rodeo (Manawa Rodeo)

In July, you can see bareback bronc riding, team roping, breakaway roping, steer wrestling, saddle bronc riding, tie-down roping, barrel racing, and bull riding at the Mid-Western Rodeo. In addition to these rodeo performances, you can see a parade, enjoy live music, and even participate in a 5K fun run/walk.

If you’re near Manawa in July, get tickets to the Mid-Western Rodeo.

Wisconsin River Rodeo

At the Wisconsin River Rodeo, you can enjoy live music and vendors in addition to rodeo performances: bareback riding, saddle bronc riding, tie down roping, team roping, steer wrestling, barrel racing, breakaway roping, and bull riding. You can even see a tractor pull.

The Wisconsin River Rodeo is a great family event because it offers events that kids can join, like a boot scramble, candy toss, nickel dig, and hat giveaway.

Heart of the North: Spooner Rodeo

Drawing its roots from 1954, the Spooner Rodeo is a Wisconsin tradition. In July, you can enjoy country music, the Lions Club Barbeque Cookout, and a parade. Kids can participate in a Nickel Scramble.

The Spooner Rodeo is sanctioned by the PRCA and is a qualifier for the National Rodeo Finals. The Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) supports rodeo sports and sanctions rodeos. It organizes the National Rodeo Finals every year.

You can see saddle bronc, bareback, team roping, calf roping, steer wrestling, barrel racing, and bull riding at the Spooner Rodeo. Kids can participate in mutton bustin’.

The Spooner Rodeo also organizes an Exceptional Rodeo. At the Exceptional Rodeo local youth with disabilities partner with cowboys and cowgirls to compete in rodeo events.

Great Northern Classic Rodeo

In September, you can see bareback bronc riding, calf roping, saddle bronc riding, breakaway roping, steer wrestling, barrel racing, ranch bronc, team roping, and bull riding at the Great Northern Classic Rodeo.

Proceeds from the Great Northern Classic Rodeo go to local clubs and charity organizations, like 4-H clubs and Boys and Girls Clubs of Superior.

This rodeo also organizes the Miracle Rodeo for people with developmental and physical disabilities. Participants compete in barrel racing with stick horses and other events. They also enjoy a meet and greet with a rodeo clown.

Stanley Rodeo

At the Stanley Rodeo, you’ll see saddle bronc riding, barrel racing, breakaway roping, steer wrestling, and bull riding. You won’t want to miss the Stanley Rodeo because it’s a qualifier for the National Rodeo Finals hosted by the PRCA. You’ll see top competitors vie for a spot in the finals at this June rodeo.

In addition to top-notch rodeo performances, you can enjoy horse games, a kiddie parade, a rodeo parade, a pedal tractor pull, horse pull, live music, Cowboy Church, a Charcoal Chicken Dinner, and even a Cowboy Breakfast.

The Stanley Rodeo also organizes workshops for people learning to work with horses and cattle.

Price County Rodeo

In July, enjoy saddle bronc riding, bull riding, tiedown roping, bareback bronc riding, steer wrestling, breakaway roping, barrel racing, and team roping at the Price County Rodeo. 

The Price County Rodeo is sanctioned by the PRCA and WPRA. The Women’s Professional Rodeo Association (WPRA) supports women’s rodeo sports and hosts finals each year.

You can also enjoy rodeo clown shows and children’s games.

Midwest Horse Fair

Each April, you can enjoy a PRCA-sanctioned rodeo at the Midwest Horse Fair. You’ll see saddle bronc riding, bareback bronc riding, steer wrestling, team roping, tie-down roping, barrel racing, and bull riding.

Brown County Fair PRCA Rodeo

If you’re headed to the Brown County Fair in August, there’s lots to see and experience. You’ll see a PRCA Rodeo, demo derby, horse pull, truck and tractor pull, ag exhibits, vendors, and more.

St. Croix Valley PRCA Rodeo

You’ll enjoy performances of all of the PRCA rodeo events at the St. Croix Valley PRCA Rodeo in August. Beyond rodeo performances families can enjoy mutton bustin’, fantasy corral petting zoo, pony rides, nickel scrambles, and a stick rodeo.

Barron County Pro Rodeo

In June, you can catch rodeo performances at the Barron County Pro Rodeo. You can see bull riding, barrel racing, bronc riding, and pre-rodeo events with kids activities. At the rodeo, you can see a performance by The Rodeo City Riders, too.

Wisconsin Rodeo Associations

Wisconsin has several rodeo associations that support the rodeo sports participation among youth: Little Britches Rodeo of Wisconsin and the Wisconsin High School Rodeo Association.
