West Virginia Rodeos

Whether you’re going to see beautiful waterfalls and mountains or experience a small town, there’s a lot to explore in West Virginia. You might even be able to catch a rodeo.

Pretzel Arena Rodeo

At the Pretzel Arena Rodeo,  you can see bareback and saddle bronc riding, bull riding, bull doggin’, tie-down roping, team roping, breakaway roping, and barrel racing.

Before the rodeo starts, you can watch mutton bustin’ at the Lil’ Buckaroo Rodeo. There are also team penning and barrel racing before the official rodeo. 

Additionally, you can enjoy shopping from various vendors and food from concessions. Other activities include mechanical bull riding, ax throwing, and a bounce house.

With all of these activities, the Pretzel Arena Rodeo is an event your whole family will enjoy.

H&H Rodeo

Running rodeo competitions May through August, you can see bull riding, barrel racing, steer riding, and mutton bustin’ at H&H Rodeo. Other activities include dummy roping and horse-drawn carriage rides.

Spiker Farm Annual Bull Ride

In September, you can catch two nights of bull riding at Spiker Farm. If you’re near Jane Lew, you won’t want to miss this event.

Lone Star Rodeo

If you’re headed to the Tri-County Fair in Petersburg, don’t miss the Lone Star Rodeo. You’ll see bareback bronc riding, saddle bronc riding, calf roping, breakaway roping, steer wrestling, team roping, barrel racing, and bull riding. It’s a July event not to miss.

West Virginia Rodeo Associations

West Virginia Rodeo Associations include the West Virginia High School Rodeo Association (WVHSRA) and the Mountain State Rodeo Association (MSRA). The WVHSRA supports rodeo sports for high school students and organizes competitions. The MSRA supports rodeo in West Virginia and throughout the East Coast.
