Tennessee Rodeos by City

Tennessee Rodeos

Maybe you’re headed to Nashville. You’re going to get hot chicken and enjoy country music.

Or, maybe you’re going to check out the Smokies to enjoy scenic vistas and hiking.

Whatever brings you to Tennessee, it’s a nice place to see a rodeo.

Franklin Rodeo

Founded in 1949, the Franklin Rodeo is a strong Tennessee tradition. The Franklin Noon Rotary Club produces this rodeo and uses the proceeds to give back to the community through grants. For example, in the 1960s, the Franklin Noon Rotary Club gave grants to nursing, dental, and medical schools because the community needed more medical professionals. The Franklin Rodeo also supports Tough Enough to Wear Pink, which works to support families dealing with breast cancer.

The Franklin Rodeo is PRCA-sanctioned. The Professional Cowboys Rodeo Association (PRCA) supports rodeo sports and hosts finals every year. You’ll see bareback riding, steer wrestling, team roping, saddle bronc riding, tie down roping, barrel racing, and bull riding at the Franklin Rodeo.

In addition to professional performances, kids can participate in mutton bustin’ and a calf scramble. The Franklin Rodeo starts with a kickoff party where you can see the chutes. Kids can enjoy pony rides, mechanical bull riding and roping, bouncy bull riding, and a live petting zoo. You can also enjoy the Franklin Rodeo Parade.

If you’re headed to central Tennessee in May, check out the Franklin Rodeo.

Monroe Rodeo

The Monroe Rodeo benefits Monroe County Fairgrounds development. It’s a community-driven initiative. At the Monroe Rodeo, you’ll enjoy bull riding, bronc riding, and roping performances.

Tennessee Valley Lineman Rodeo

For a different take on rodeo, you can check out the Tennessee Valley Lineman Rodeo in Chattanooga each June. This rodeo started in 1998 and focuses on the skills in the electrical trades. Apprentices, teams, individuals, and seniors compete in a variety of events, including Hurtman Rescue, A-6 Poly Change, and more.

The Tennessee Valley Lineman Rodeo also includes a golf tournament, awards banquet, and a kids zone with free activities.

Tennessee Rodeo Associations

These rodeo associations include the Tennessee High School Rodeo Association (TNHSRA), Tennessee Youth Rodeo Association (TYRA), Tennessee Junior Rodeo Associaotin (TNJRA), STAR (Southern Tennessee All STAR Rodeo), and the Tennessee Little Britches Rodeo Association.
