Nevada Rodeos

While Nevada is perhaps best known for the Las Vegas strip, casinos, shows, and even food, the state also has some excellent rodeos.

Clark County Fair & Rodeo

In Logandale, you can see PRCA and WPRA rodeos at the Clark County Fair & Rodeo. The Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) sanctions rodeos and hosts finals annually. Events they sanction include bull riding, bronc riding, and roping.

The Women’s Professional Rodeo Association (WPRA) also sanctions rodeos and hosts finals, but they focus on women’s rodeo sports – barrel racing and roping events.

Beyond rodeo, you can enjoy a carnival and see various specialty acts as you walk around the Clark County Fair & Rodeo. The Fair also hosts various exhibits, including home science, fine arts, and photography.

Reno Rodeo

Each June you can enjoy a variety of events at the Reno Rodeo. It’s sanctioned by the PRCA and WPRA. You can also see Xtreme Bull Riding. There’s also a PRCA youth camp, mutton bustin’, and a Special Kids Rodeo that kids of all abilities can participate in.

You can also enjoy concerts, a drill team competition, a golf tournament, and wild pony races.

If you can’t be there in person, you can watch the rodeo broadcast on several TV stations.

Organized by the Wildest, Richest Rodeo Cowboys Association, the Reno Rodeo has been a community tradition since 1919.

Lund Pioneer Days Rodeo

Celebrate Lund Pioneer Days in Ely. Each July, you can enjoy the festivities: fireworks, a parade, BBQ dinner, games, and dancing.

Of course, there’s also a great rodeo. The Lund Pioneer Days Rodeo is the oldest amateur rodeo in Nevada. So, you can see future cowboy and cowgirl greats get their start at this rodeo.

Lincoln County Fair & Rodeo

In August, you can check out the Lincoln County Fair & Rodeo. It’s sanctioned by the Northwest Professional Rodeo Association. You can enjoy barrel racing, a ranch rodeo, junior rodeo, and peewee rodeo.

A ranch rodeo draws on rodeo’s roots as a competition between teams of ranch hands to see who does common ranch tasks the best. Junior and peewee rodeos are designed for kids who are just getting started learning rodeo sports. There’s also mutton bustin’ at the Lincoln County Fair & Rodeo for kids.

In addition to rodeo, you can enjoy a pet show, gymkhana, a queen contest, running and biking relay races, dances, live music, art, games… etc.

Douglas County Rodeo

In September, you can stop by a newer rodeo in Gardnerville. The Douglas County Rodeo includes typical rodeo events and concerts.

Nevada Rodeo Associations

Nevada has several rodeo associations. The Wildest, Richest Rodeo Cowboys Association organizes the Reno Rodeo.

The Nevada Gay Rodeo Association (NGRA) organizes the BigHorn Rodeo, which is one of the biggest rodeos in the gay rodeo circuit.

The Nevada Wrangler Junior Rodeo Association and Nevada High School Rodeo Association focus on keeping rodeo sports alive by passing them to the next generation. The Nevada Wrangler Junior Rodeo Association hosts 12 rodeos throughout the year for various age groups.
