Will Rogers Range Riders was formed in the late 1930's just as the Panhandle was recovering from 7 years of drought, dust storms, and depression. It was the first riding club organized in Amarillo and remains the oldest continually operating riding club in the United States. The group took their name from the American cowboy and humorist, Will Rogers. Rogers was also a trick roper, actor, author, and philosopher.
